Mary Elizabeth Hamilton is a New Dramatists playwriting fellow and a Story Editor on Why Women Kill. She was a Jerome New York Fellow at The Lark and a Lila Acheson Wallace fellow at The Juilliard School. Her play 16 Winters won the American Shakespeare New Contemporaries Award at ASC. Her plays include We Three, The Plan, One of the Women, The Quiet Ones and Smart. She was a  recipient of the Iowa Arts Fellowship and has participated in The O'Neill Theater Conference, Ars Nova, Youngblood, I-73, New Georges’ The Jam, Play Penn Theater Conference and Wordbridge. She is currently working on a Sloan commission with EST and adapting her play Smart into a television pilot for AMC.
